This will be the first time we attend this event, but it is being co-hosted by Mary Murphy, star judge of "So You Think you Can Dance" and Michael Chapman, organizer of the Millenium Dancesport Classic in Florida, which is a huge and artfully crafted competition. So, between the two of them, it stands to reason that this will be a fantastic event, plus, it is California just outside of LA (like you need another reason to attend).

Des Moines: Day of Dance
A full day of workshops, performances, freestyle (single dance) heats to get critiqued and social dancing right here in Des Moines, the heart of Iowa.
You can participate in many ways: just come and spectate or support your friends, put together a performance, take some of the workshops, get feedback from judges in our single dance critiqued heats, or just come nad social dance.

People come into the ballroom for many different reasons: to meet people, to have something fun to do with your spouse, to lose weight, or maybe simply to increase the fun in their life. Above all else, dancing should be fun. It should be an escape from everyday life and something you look forward to doing more of and learning more about.
The Des Moines Ballroom offers a friendly and comfortable setting in our Group Classes and a fun and focused setting in our Private Lessons. Several students take both Group and Private lessons to help them advance their dancing faster and increase their enjoyment and popularity in the dance community.
Youth classes are also offerred at Des Moines Ballroom. They currently run on Saturday mornings and are set up so your youngster can learn the basics and then move into a more advanced level and even join the performance team. Send us an email for more details on the youth programs.
